Default Time for wheels...

OK, I have the sway bars, coil-overs and springs on.... Now it's time for wheels. My concern is the bold print in the manual about changing the tire/wheel size. I am looking at 18s but don't know about how that will affect the quattro system. I also want to go a little wider.

Any thoughts?

Front and rear 22mm sway bars from Neuspeed. Bilstein coilovers (HE5.8041). They ran about $1000. Feels great - like a totally different car.

Hey mate!

Funny you're asking on the day I'm putting on some 235/40 18's

From what I've learned, it doesn't dramatically effect the quattro unless you put different brand tires (no two manufactures will have the exact same diameter for their tires) or there's excessive wear on one or two tires. The limit is 19" but you have to go to a lower 35 profile to fit the wheel well.

But I'm curious what the wise TT sages have to say I could be wrong

It wont affect your Quattro system if you change your tire and wheel size, as long as all 4 are the same. The brand dosen't matter either, you can have different brand tires on all 4 wheels, as long as they are the same size(ex. 225 40 R18). So just stay away from a staggered setup (I have seen people run staggered on the car and not have any noticible problems, but the book clearly states not to.)

Another look

These are 235/40 18 Hankook Ventus HRII H405 - on VSR Anima 18x8 Rims. Oddly enough I bought Audi logo center caps for the rims - but they were 58mm instead of 68mm in diameter. After careful consideration I used them. The effect is kinda cool and looks like it was suppose to be that way.

They are softer tires and ride way quieter - though I'm not too sure I like the softer handling - anyone using these tires?

Nice shot of the Alteeza style taillights

Ah now I see the 4 and racing stripe you were talking about before.
That would drive me nuts!

LOL! What drives me nuts is people coming up and touching the car! In the right light you can clearly see them but they are mostly camoflauged. As the photos show
