my timing belt went out and i was wondering how much it would cost to fix. the belt did not break. the belt wasnt spinning when i tried to start it. it has 70,000 miles and is a 2001.

what do u mean it went out? be a little more specific? if it went then most likely you'll be paying around $5500(if the piston heads hit the exhaust valves or intake valves)

yeah, thats a pretty weird discription, you'll need to clarify that a bit. If you actually broke it, or the ribs off of it, and a piston hit a valve, you're talking a few grand.

This is exactly why you should do the timing belt and related pullys early.
