Default timing belt questio

a guy at a local shop said that it is recommend to change the timing belt on TT's around 60k miles because they start to go bad and will slip. Leading to bent valves etc...

anyone here have this problem? I was thinking of getting mine changed just to be on the safe side.

60K Timing belt is the #1 recommended maintenance.

You pretty much NEED to change it at 60k, or you are asking for trouble (I Just hit 70k yesterday [&:]).

Go ahead and read the horror stories.
