I got my 2001 TT Roadster last year. I didn't pay attention until I noticed that my wife was having trouble lifting the trunk cover by herself. I am not sure if my trunk cover is supposed to be this heavy or the struts are worn out.

How does your trunk feel? Does it pop up by itself when you press the trunk release?

The struts are dead. The trunk should lift easy. My brother had bad ones and it takes 2 hands to open it and close it.
