Oh my god a miracle has occured. Your timing belt lasted for the entire service interval. If you like the A4 you'll love the TT as far as driving dynamics is concerned. The big downer will be the loss of anything resembling a trunk. I paid $18.5 for my 225 mint condition stock roadster with 68K miles so yeah it's a good deal.

as long as you dont mind losing the ability to take two more people or that much stuff with you, i like my tt alot coming from an a4 avant even, though the obvious size differences

on price, i paid 16.5 for an 01 225q with 20k miles. even though he is a bud, that price sounds a little high to me, though it is a year newer and is a roadster, i would ask him to drop it a grand since you are going to have to reaplce the timing belt and water pump and tensioner immediately if it hasnt been done good luck

I wouldn't hesitate about the price; $16.5 is a good deal if it is in fact perfect.

Find out if he did the timing belt at 60K. If not, that should be the first thing you do after taking the keys from him. 70K is a ticking time bomb.

Guess it depends on the area but that price looks respectible.

Of course it depends on options included and condition of tires, timing belt, instrument cluster, performance , paint, seats, rag top etc...

I would search on line yahoo, autobytel, cars.com using a 100 mile radious to make sure there is nothing better around. ANd would feel a little uneasy buying it from a private owner.

Personally, I would want to pay less for those miles but everyone is different.

From what I've read, I think my brother got the best deal of anyone on here. He paid $12,900 for an '01 225 quattro with 65k miles in perfect condition with new tires. Can anyone beat that?
