Default TT as daily driver?

I have been considering purchasing a A4 (B7) but may consider throwing a TT in the option mix. I'm looking to spend around $15K. This will be my commuter car; 100 miles a day.

Would this be a mistake?
Thanks

Oh, I would like something that I can mod easily for a bit more performance. That's part of the reason I am looking for a 2.0t A4.

I just bought a 2005 1.8L TT for a weekend car. Could not afford the speeding tickets if it was daily driver!

Personally I would go with an A4, they are less finicky.. The 07' 2.0L has resolved alot of the 05' 06' model year issues so its pretty reliable.

Default My 2000 TT has been my daily driver since new!

and I still love it. These cars are meant to be driven. I love my car, and it gets good gas mileage.

I'm finding a lot of 2002 and earlier TTs available but nothing newer. Is there an issue with the 02s?

Try to take extended test drive on both and pick one you would enjoy driving more; after all a good drive makes up for a lot of bad days.

Default TT!

I would absolutely suggest the Audi TT! But if you're fairly tall and are looking to buy the MK1's (usually in your $15000 price range), I would suggest the A4 instead. The TT is more spacious than one would think, but definitely not spacious enough for a taller person! I am, however, only 5 foot 3 so I don't need much room in the cabin anyway! The TT is a wonderful car and I've never had any problems with mine (2001 Audi TT 1.8L)! I get between 32-37 mpg on the highway so it's great for the 100 mile commute! Best of luck!

I'm 6' 2" and have no issue whatsoever getting in and out of the car or sitting comfortably. I keep the seat lowered all the way of course, but as far as sliding back and forth from the steering wheel it stays at about halfway. Obviously no one is going to sit in the back seat so no worries there - the coupe back seat is just for looks! Unless you're a kid in a booster seat or something.
