Smile tt overheating

so i'm driving to an interview last friday when i glance at my gauges to see my temp gauge 1 mark below pegged. this is the 1st time this car has overheated since i bought in june last year. i did some troubleshooting and discovered that the main fan (driver's side) was dead. i got a new fan shroud assembly from Autozone (Dorman) and installed it thinking all is well now. ran car in the driveway and everything looked good. i took it for a drive and it started doing the same thing again.
So after doing some searching, i discovered a couple of videos (one here) that pointed to the water pump and it's plastic impeller.
So i've ordered a waterpump/timing belt kit from ECS tuning along with an oil pump and op drive chain and tensioner. The car has 173k miles on it, so while it's down for this maintenance, i will also replace the cam chain and tensioner, and new SFS cooling system hoses, breather and induction hoses from Ramair on ebay.
i will be adding to this thread along with photos of what i discover, as well as a description of how this whole process goes.
If anyone has any tips for me, please jump in as this will be my 1st job like this on a European car, but i have been turning a wrench on domestic, Japanese and motorcycles for quite some time. Parts are a bit pricey, but i love this car and i hope to keep it for along, long time.
Parts should all be here mid to late February, so until then, keep the dirty rubber side down and God Bless!

so i started taking this car apart. i love the car but i hate the engineering aspect. There is no room and to access one thing you have to deal with 2 to 3 other things. little did i know that i would have to take the bumper cover off to change one of the induction hoses to the intercooler. Who knew? sorry for the lack of pics so far, but life gets busy and my hands get too dirty working on this thing to handle my camera.
oncve i get it all apart and reasonably clean, i will be taking pics of the reassembly process, including sai/evap delete and vacvuum line clean up.
Stay tuned.
