Default TT vs. GTI

I have a 2001 225 quattro roadster and am thinking selling it. It is in excellent shape and has 71k on it, mostly summer driven. I was thinking of asking around 15 thousand for it, does that sound good for pricing? It has a 3 inch pipe on it.

In place of that, i was looking at a 20th anniversary edition GTI. Is the GTI pretty much the same as far as mechanical work goes? The GTI has 94 thousand miles one it, is that starting to get a little high in mileage for this car?

Thanks for any help

you are basically downgrading awd for fwd, ko4 for a ko3s and quality interior. They use the same engine and tranny and will require the same maintence. I have to ask, reason? I have to think money since most go in the other direction

Money is part of the reason. I was just inquiring and thinking about the GTI as a possible different car.

If money is an issue, I wouldn't look into the 1.8t's. They require too much expensive maintance. Go with a vr6 gti.

or a 2.8 A4. Both have way less moving parts and alot cheaper to maintain. Should be able to find either for well under $11k

Are you going to get the same performance out of the vr6 as you do out of the 1.8t? I was also looking at a 3.2 v6 TT. I know they are a little more expensive but it seems worth it.

What is the difference between the regular TT and the TT sport?

The sport is just the 3.2. The vr6 can make some decent power NA but really shines with some mild boost.

TTS is AWD with the S3 K04(I believe), which is bigger than the K04 on the 225 and will do 0 60 in 5.2 secs stock and probably 4.7 chipped. It starts at 45K. So again we will have 2 TTs, one with K03 and one with K04.

I don't think you'll get $15,000 for your TT either. I just bought my TT a few months for 12,500 and it had more mods and only 78k on it.
