Hi i recently got an audi TT (1.8T 2001) Roadster and some guys told me to get a turbo timer and they explained everything about it but I have a
few questions. When i get a turbo timer do i have to get it my model specific as in a turbo timer for the TT or can I get any turbo timer. And also I know that a turbo timer will keep my engine running (without the car turned on) until it thinks that the turbo is cool enough (by running coolant in it) but what if I turned off my car and my turbo timer was running and i wanted to go out before the turbo was cool enough... would I still be able to use my car? - stupid question but im really new to the world of cars and especially an audi Thanks in advanced!

 

all turbo timers are the same, greddy and apexi being the more popular
its the oil is what needs to cool down, not the coolent/turbo.
if you turn you car off and want to run it again, when you put it in the on postion your car wont shut off. they only run for 10-60secs depending on how hard you ran it.
you really dont need to buy one really if you dont want to. if you sit in you car for about 15-20secs and let it run it will be fine. also if you take it easy on the car the last min or so of your trip, you dont really have to worry about letting it run to long after you park it (maybe 10-15secs tops)

but....if you do want one get the Apexi N1 it has some cool features and costs around 110 bucks....even does A/F raitios and battery volt meter

haha i know i was kidding....it doesnt sound too bad either....haha yeah right...had a buddy put one of his dsm and it sounded like a fart can.

the turbo timer is just called auto timer

 

someone in the a4 section just put one on his 3.0 and its really bad. you should find it for a listen.

 

hahaha are you serious??? thats horrible putting japanese performance mods on german cars(electronics is ok)
