Updated with pics!......bahhh! clutch went out...but it is more then that...
---------------------------------
Heres the story.
2000 tt quattro 180hp 5spd 84k miles
Clutch was slipping ....so bought a luk clutch and luk dualmass flywheel from dial -a-clutch
Labor for install along with haldex fluid change, gearbox oil change...and replace bank 1 o2 sensor for $530
I have taking my car to this euro mechanic for a year now, he has done my timing belt and other stuff...so i do not think he is trying to rip me off....
But...
got a call today....major problem....bell housing has cracks on the inside, chips of metal and what not everywhere...
so i had him find me a tranny - 43k miles, tested , guranteed etc... $1200 (coming from some big vendor in chicago)
I remember reading awhile back if your clutch goes bad you should replace it right away.....i wouldnt say my clutch was slipping that bad, it was noticable on the hwy...
so Iam paying 2000$ for the tranny install and all the fluid changes, o2 replacement....
Has this happend to anyone?
[&o]
i cant get rims for awhile now [:'(]
--------------------------------------
Got the car back!...yeah i had to get another tranny...take a look at the old one...sorry big pic:

Well I bought mine with a blown clutch and the Audi Dealer charged the dealer I bought it from about $4k for all the repairs. Which includes clutch, flywheel, clutch housing, clutch master cylinder and all the labor for the install. So I would say $2000 for a new clutch and a low mileage tranny is a pretty decent deal.
