Im not saying one intake is better and deff not saying any are good, they dont help for ****, all they do is move the filter where in thoery they will get cold air but in fact they dont they pull more hot air in from the engine bay, and you dont have to pay 1200 to get an intercooler but that ebay stuff is **** I did the set up on my car for less that 350 with a very high quality intercooler

 

Def stay away from those 199.00 on EBAY. They are TRASH. Intercoolers are deffinately one thing that you get what you pay for.

 

by no means am i purchasing a fmic anytime soon, but if i was going to get one it would prob be the forge fmic, comes with a new manifold and piping. what other fmic kits are there and which is the best one? i would like to save as much money as possible. i do have a 180 quattro and plan on getting the renn-art gt2871r turbo kit by the end of the summer.

 

Id go with a custom set up it will save you tons

 

do you know a good place to get the intercooler and piping work?

 

For the intercooler check out johnny racecar intercoolers and as far as pipes go i made my own, so i dont know where you would get them made, i do know a shop but i think the pipe kit is like 300 and i thought that was a rip off

 

i could prob do my own pipework, but i think the harder part would be to get the right intercooler.
