So I want to have VAG to run data log then use lemminwinks to tune my audi TT. I was wondering, you can download the VAG for free? ( weird) and the cable sells for on ebay for about $20 shipped. Has anyone every done this? Its says its compatible with the use of lemmiwinks and vag. Just let me know what you think. Heres the link to the ebay link:

From everything I've heard, its hit or miss. I've avoided the headache and old versions of vag and got the real deal. Yes it costs more, but you're paying for tech support and updates you're not gonna get with an ebay cable.

 

Basically I just want to data log and clear my cel codes and airbag light when(becuase I removed the seat) will the ebay cable work?

 

I bought these same cable and its not working for me ... It says that the port status is ok but conection is not found so I dont know

 

To make full use of VAG-COM you have to buy the $250 package from Ross-tech. The cable has a "dongle" built in which enables you to use all the features of VAG-COM...that's why you can downloaded it for free...because without the dongle you get some limited functionality, I think you can just scan for codes and maybe clear them.

And btw lemmiwinks won't work with a USB cable, but Unitronic has a program that's the exact same thing that will work with a USB interface on thier site.
