Default VAG-COM on a palm pilot

I have a dell hand held little thing I dont use. Is anybody running vag-com on one of these or is it even possible? How bout Unisettings or any other program. Or is this thing basically useless to me for hooking up to the obd-II?

HPA sells a VAD system that is like vagcom but is palm compatable. They advertise them on vortex also.

Dont know anyone that uses it. Dont know anyone still using a palm anymore with smart phones out now. But if its from HPA, it should be pretty good. But if you have a laptop, i would just get a ross-tech cable

Yeah i may just buy a cheap *** laptop or use my bro's. How much room does the program take up and if I have a cable and laptop what else do I need?

I have the Palm Pilot and OBDII lead but it the software was never that great. I tried most of the software available most of which you could only view diagnostic logs not clear any codes.

Be interested on the VAD system if it can diagnose and clear/edit codes.

That was far from a answer from ross-tech.

I would NEVER attempt to use a PDA for vagcom.

Mostly because PDAs have a VERY limited functionality. The software platform that PDAs use is so very compressed and limited... that even if you COULd use it... it would be nearly impossible to interpret the results efficiently.

PDA's are decent for SOME applications... (dictionaries, calendars, scheduling, pdf storage) but rarely are they effective at any comprehensive computer applications that require any real interface.

I would steer clear of using one of these unless it were actually a handheld that was designed solely for this purpose.
