Default Well, I sold my TT. Just wanted to say thanks!

The car is gone, sold it to an 18 year old girl, I hope she takes care of it.. I just wanted to thank the forum and all the regulars for the dispensed wisdom and tips about service etc..

All in all I may end up with an A6 later on down the road, or even a 5 series BMW, only time will tell. I know the TT is just to small for me, and forget about hauling others. Fun car to drive and the ownership went well other than the timing belt swap (uuhhg). I will miss the 29 mpg, I doubt I get that on a 540i or a A6.

Until we meet again!
Alex

Sorry to see you go!
Stop in from time to time and say hi! Why'd you sell your TT anyway? Did you tell her about this wonderful forum?

I will be checkin in from time to time.. The gal who has it will be off to collage soon and needed a ride, so I doubt she becomes an "enthusiast", I just hope she checks the oil.

As far as "Why" I sold the car, well... It really was to small for me. The narrowseat bolsters made long drives uncomfortable, and you may laugh, but getting out of that car in nasty weather was tough. You see, with dress slacks and getting over that door sill without getting stains on the back of my calves was next to impossible if I was parked next to another car in a parking lot and cant swing the door all the way open, and forget about hauling workmates to lunch or clients etc..

By far the best handling car that I ever had.Even stock it out handled cars in my past with serious mods. I think if it would have been a 225 I may have kept it for the power, but the 180 seems a tad thin for my habits, and I did not see spending $500 on a flash for that motor if I was not going to keep it for a long time. Sorta smacked of spending good money after bad. The 180 just did not have the potential to justify the work and $$ to achieve the end results I have read about.

All in all they are a great car, I would recomend one to anybody, especially the lil 180 FWD. They are a good value for a simple sporty car if you drive it within reason and don't go huntin cars withbig power.

I will check in from time to time, did I mention I saw a V-8 S4 today...mmmmm, now I need real money to support that habit.
