I had my windshield replaced today. Wedged under the bottom of the windshield was this cap. Can't figure out where it came from or how it got there. Any ideas? It is one inch wide.

check on your windshield wipers down where the fasten to the car... might cover up that bolt

 

is that underneath the black plastic trim that lays on top off the windshield at the bottom? just seems liketoo hidden a spot for them to put something as nice as a dimple cover.

 

pop the hood and look right on your windshield wipers... right at the bottom of them where they are attached to the car.

its the wiper arm that has a bolt to it, and i there are caps that cover up the bolt

 

also look at your cup holders there is a similie=ar cap like that

 

seems too big to be the cup holder, but maybe (havent had cupholders in my car in forever). Doubt its the wiper arms, they're black plastic, not like that.
Is that plastic, or aluminum?

 

It doesseem to big for the side of the cup holder, but that's the only place I can think of.I had one fall off b/c the plastic that it clips to underneath broke. If a penny fits in the underside perfectly, it definitelygoes on the cupholders. But DON'T put a penny in there! I had it in the center compartment with some change and a penny got in it and now I can't get it out.

 

^i doubt its the wipers too... but he did say windshield soo its the first thing that popped into my mind... ill ponder some more

 

I have that same piece! I found it under my driver's side seat and I cannot figure out what it goes to! Ahaha...I was going to make this same post. I have looked all over the inside of my car and I cannot find where it goes.
