What does a DV do????
Where is Cincy? I am sure he can come up with a good reason to have a BOV. Myself personally I like stealth, and nothing says it like a DV, sure there are BOV that you can run with your TT, but I think that it is better when you pull up to someone and they dont know what you have under the hood. At least most of the muscleheads here in Oklahoma dont know. This guy the other night tried to race my wife with his F-150 with intake and exhaust. Said that if you aint got 8cyl you aint got s**t. Haha well lets just say he found out the hard way, aint nothing like losing to a girl also...
OK this is killing me now. I had a Forge 007 put into my car and it was super quiet. Now that I have an intake my car sounds like a BOV. Is it suppose to be quiet? Dave said it suppose to go out your exhaust but the sound comes from under my hood.Could my APR guy put in the wrong part? My car literally sounds like Darth Vader.
Nope sounds about right, its not going to sound like a BOV but more like a muffled PFFTSS, or CHCCCHHSS. Its hard to explain but once you put on a intake the Forge DV will sound alot louder than with the stock airbox, the only time it will really be quieter is when you are just revving ur engine without any boost that is when people wont know what you have under the hood. But once you are off and you pass them and shift into second they will hear it but it wont be a BOV sound so therefore they get confused. I had a guy ask me once why I purged my nitrous when I shifted into second, haha what a loser. Oh by the way he drove a Hyundai!

And for the blowing into the exhaust.....LOL, THATS TOO FUNNY!!
You are blowing the metered air back into the intake to relieve pressure in the ic piping. Between shifts the TB closes and the pressure has no place to go but back the way it came.... through the turbo. This would slow and damage the wheels in the turbo. So by releasing the air (recir or vta) you prevent this from happening. Also you would get faster spool ups inbetween shifts since the wheels are still spinning at a high rate of speed and not being slowed by the air returning creating surge.
