Here in Indianapolis at Sam's Club yesterday it was $3.66 for regular and $3.86 for Premium 93 Octane. They don't sell the midgrade 89 which I think is a waste of money anyways. If we would reduce the type of gasolines to only 2 types. Regular and Premium I think gas should be cheaper. Heck while driving through Kentucky or Tennessee I saw a gas station that offered 6 different Octane type gasolines. That is just stupid. I heard gas should come down to almost 3bucks for regular by labor day.
It's amazing that we think 3 or even 4 bucks is cheap for gas when less than 10 years ago it was less than a buck. Then some countries like Venezuela selling the gallon for 13 cents. Even Mexico is cheaper than us at about 2 bucks a gallon. Oh well, it's all relative.

i'd assume mexican gas is well, mexican gas. probably not worth more than 13 cents.

We DO have cheap gas in the global view, check out the price of gas in Europe.

funniest quote i've heard all day...

well, the good news is that gas here in dirty jersey has finally dipped below 4 bucks this week, and today i was able to have the luxury of only paying 3.99 for my 93.

i was thinking today about how i used to have an e36 BMW and around 2001-2002 i could fill up in houston or austin TX and only pay 12 dollars to fill with premium. times have changed!!

also agreed with achTTung that we could be a lot worse off and pay euro prices- like i said once before 2 months ago i was in denmark and the price was 5 kroner per liter, and that equates to roughly 12 bucks a gallon!

I have been saying that for some time now. A car either needs 87 or 91/93 and if everyone just dumped the wasted mid grade gas there would be plenty more of what people actually need and less pollution from those using 89 when all they need is 87. Most Sunoco's have 86,87,89,91, and 94.... COME ON NOW!!

I'm really surprised people are still paying under 4 bucks in some places where here it's at or over 5 bucks in some places and over 4.60 in most. Stupid Hawaii gas.

Angry Here's the Problem

Exxon just released their quarterly earnings and they made lots of profit, the likes of which our country has never seen before. Exxon-Mobil turned a profit for the second quarter of $11.7 billion. That is the biggest three-month profit in U.S. corporate history.

The only reason that European Gas prices seem high to us is because of the Exchange Rate and our lousy Dollar that isn't worth anything in Europe or here for that matter. When the Euro first became the currency in Germany and I was visiting my relatives I received about 1.45 Euro for my Dollar.
Now a few years later I am lucky to get 60 of their Euro Cents for my Dollar.
So off course Gas prices in Europe seem high if you are converting them from Euro into Dollars. If the Dollar were as strong as it once was that $8.00 a Gallon in Europe would be less than $4.00 a Gallon. So it's all relative.
And if you get paid in Euros it isn't all that bad.

It's a total waste! Some Crystal Flash Stations here have 5 different Multigrades which is just a marketing sceme for people to put more expensive gas into their cars that they don't need and I bet that if they test that gas in those tanks they will not be able to distinquish the one octane difference between some of the grades. It's rediculous!

But Hawaii Gas smells better since they refine each Gallon with Hibiscus flowers picked by Virgin Hula Girls
