Default What is this piece? It's broken!

I have a 180 FWD K03S, non-Q.

WTH does this stupid thing do? Is this the source of my dirty oil? Does this piece even deal with oil exchange?

It's all taped up with hose tape because it fell apart. What is this doing to my car?

Thanks guys

Looks like a modded intake hose?

Thats the breather hose. it takes blow by from the engine back into the intake. Now would be a good time toget a catch can installed since that part fails often and are costly. And yes, that is the reason for the oil on your car.

How will a catch can help, cincy? Does it take over the part of the breather hose? I wondered if this made my oil dirty (because of the hose tape), but why would it, with hose tape on it, put oil where it shouldn't be? Wouldn't taping it keep what's supposed to be there (blow by?) in there, and keep air out? BTW, what intake? Obviously not the air intake, lol...

sorry, one more -- does this adversely affect performance? Besides the oil system, I mean.

The intake helps relieve presure from the engine via that hose. Its not really hurting it, just not working like it should. Just get a oil catch can, hose (if it doesnt come with it) and you are set. This will alsokeepoilout of your intake, turbo's compressor, ic/piping, and tb/manifold.

my set up was like $25 dollars and stuff from home depot. Its easy and if you want a real can, you can get them from ebay and jegs pretty cheap.
