I am shopping for a TT right now, and while I am searching, I am looking at a lot of pictures. I have noticed that some of shots of the steering wheels have a symbol at the bottom. I think its the "S" symbol from other audis, but Im not sure why its on some and not others. Any info on why some cars have this thing and others dont? Is the wheel the same otherwise? Here is a pic

 

I always thought it was just another Audi logo... I wasn't aware that some cars had it and others didn't.

 

Its a symbol for audi sport.

Like amg for Mercedes or M for BMW

 

they havent made an s series tt that i know of yet so its probably just a steering wheel from an s series audi. same wheel as the tt just with the s symbol.

Just a guess but 180s don't and 225s do?

 

mines a 225 and i dont have it. somebody probably like the look of the wheel and put it on. my friend with a gti put the r32 wheel on his car. its the same wheel but one says r on it at the bottom.

 

Well I have it on my 2000 180 QC, it does not say R or RS or S just the red box followed by the silver ones....

 

hmm. i wold have figured they would put them on the higher horsepower models if anything. where did you buy yours from?

I thought the Audi Sport wheel was an option. I have it on mine (atleast last time I saw the car...its been at the mechanics for the past two weeks, still with the ECU issue- I'm never washing my car again[sm=crossbonesgif.gif]).
When I was looking to buy my TT, I drove all 225s, most had the logo, a few did not.
