Default What's wrong with kids these days?

So I've had my '04 250 TT for about a month and a half now....I'm driving slowly thru a large parking lot when 2 boys come flying at me in a black civic - full or rice i might add...he flies right at me doing about 50 and i swerve, smack a curb and damage 2 wheels....the sh*thead speeds off of course.

What is wrong with kids these days??? I would have NEVER done that when I was a teen. Too bad the police are too busy catching speeders on the road rather than catching irresponsible teens and criminals....ggrrrr!

I took my car to the body shop I've used (many times in the past.....d'oh) and they said they can fis them since they are alloy.....does anyone have any objections or other ideas?? Replacement costs are $690ish E A C H ! ! ! ! []

If the tech says they are repairable, then do it. They will either hold air or not. Of course it is important to have them checked for true and balance. If the are not trued or are out of balance, then you will have severe high speed handling issues.

BTW: Sorry for the accident. Personally, I don't put up with that s***. I would have stopped in my tracks, rolled down the window, and waited. I would have given them a stare-down and noted their plate number. I don't think they would have been stupid enough to collide, but if they did, they would have been looking at a lot more trouble from me and my lawyer.

BTW: I had some punk kids think it would be funny to throw food at my car last Saturday while I was at the shore. I caught up with them and gave them a few choice words. They apologized - claiming that they were trying to throw the bread at the ducks. Hmmmm... no ducks in the street that I saw! I told the guys to act like adults and not like punk tourist kids.

I thought that would be it, but.... The kid who threw the food then said, "Thanks Daddy." That did it. I asked the kid if he was really that stupid to keep pushing someone he doesn't know. If he was looking for trouble, then he found it with me. I told him that I have no problem going to jail for putting his jaw through the back of his head, but he better think twice, because, while I may go to jail for a day, he'll always be missing his teeth. I told him to think first, because his Daddy might not be happy with a kid that is that stupid.

They didn't say anything at that point, except for the driver repeating that they said they were sorry. I stared at the kid for second and then I drove off.

I should mention, that my GF was sitting there staring at them, too - she never said a word, but her stares are pretty rough to handle.

HAHA!! Good for you Imola!! I have a bit of a temper myself but when it comes to dumb *** kids....i rarely waste my breath....i DO however take your GF's way of handling it and give them "THE LOOK" <--of which all kids understand assuming they had a momma around.[sm=icon_beat.gif]

It's not just kids... i was parallel parked on a neighborhood street when at 3am BOOM... i thought a train derailed near the house. i come outside to my 2 month old tt 225 in the middle of the yard... i should say the front half of my tt. the back half past the seats was in pieces all over the yard and street. the driver pulled away 1 block, turned right and went 1/2 block before the wheels literally fell off of her civic. turns out, this 40 yo drunk was trying to get laid at a bar... got pissed and drove home. accident report showed that she hit at over 50 mph and was so drunk she couldn't walk.

What's wrong with middle age people these days?

I think it's total and complete lack of respect, for themselves and everyone else. I can't tell you how many times that kind of stuf has happened to me. My personal worst was on a local freeway in a construction zone. Some little punk was passing people on the shoulder to get to the front of the line. Well, lets just say I taught the kid a lesson he's not likely to forget soon. Total humiliation is the way to go.
