Why Check Engine ?
So I swapped out my front headlights with some nice 6000k's.. but now i have a check engine light !? The only thing i can think is that i messed up a hose when I was moving around trying to twist the bulb in.. i had to move my intake but i cant see how an engine light would come on ! I checked all my hoses and they seem alright.
any suggestions here?

There will be a code with the check engine light on if you ask them to check it and shut it off for you they will tell you what the code was incase your check engine light comes back on with the same code letting you know the problem is real and not just a random code
And when you get home from driving to the autoparts place for no good reason, buy a vagcom cable, so next time you'll know on the spot what's going on.
It's surprising how many little 'toys' some people buy, and skip the really good stuff. AKA, vagcom, bentley cd...

^ I am investigating this tonight.
I got the code.. P0118 " Engine Coolant Temp Circuit High".... any help here ?
I take it my temp is high, if so my gauge reads normal, i even rode around for a bit to test it.. still normal
*EDIT* forgot to say that the light came off after they read it.. anything to worry about ? How can it just pop up and then go away.. and it means nothing ! ?

it means it was cleared.
90% of the time, codes get thrown for no real reason. One little thing gets out of spec for a second for whatever reason, and you have a code. It doesn't mean anything is broken. Now, when you clear a code, and it comes back soon. Now you have something to work off of.
If it doesn't come back, awesome, dont worry about it until it does.
