I just got a clear record (36 months since the last time I got caught speeding) though which brought my insurance down enough that I can afford this car. An extra $100 a month for insurance leaves my financescloser than I want to being tight. Claiming it isn't worth it to me if I'm going to have to pay $3600 over the next 3 years. I'lluse the money I have saved for a chip and modshack1,2,3 if it comes down to it.

This is all hind-sight but its a great reason to carry a digital cam in your car. If something happens like this and its not your fault you can start snapping pics and then ask them politely for their insurance card and drivers license even if the police don't do their job correctly.
Btw - I drive an SUV but no hard feelings. Actually its pick-up truck drivers who I think are the problems.
As long as you fit in with the idiots that can drive them rather than the idiots who can't drive them you're ok in my book.

I'm sure you can get it done cheaper.
I plan on paying that amount though. It's a reputable shop, and I've seen their work. It's still a valuable car, not worth it to be cheap in important places IMO.

SUV's suck. and all the women who drive them while talking on their cell phones and sipping there double mocha whatever's . they all need to be bitch slapped. srry bout the rant. as far as your problem goes. get the guy who hit you information and his insurance, or make him pay for all the repair costs( and a drivers ed course) or keep yelling until somone fixes it. just my two cents
