Default Window issue

Hi I have a 2001 audi tt quattro 180 hp and the issue that I have is with window. When you close the door the window goes up a little by it self and goes down when you open the door. The driver side goes up fine however the passenger side doesn't seal all the way, does anyone know what is the issue or what I could do. Thanks, appreciate it.

There are adjustment hex bolts for the window. There are 3 adjustments total (up/down, left/right, and in/out). Atleast one is under a plastic cover on the bottom of the door... I think they are all on the bottom of the door, but I can't remember.

If that doesen't work, you need to replace the door seal. Its around $650 at the dealer. I need to replace mine, but I can't find the part anywhere.

by not sealing all the way are we talking about a mm or two, or is it staying at the lowered position as if the door is opened?

First things first, I'd try resetting the window.

Raise the window all the way with your finger on the switch the whole time (don't use the one-touch). When it gets to the top, release the switch, and then push it in the up position again and hold it for a couple seconds. That should reset the 'memory' of where closed should be.

I am having the same exact problem with my passenger window. I've tried resetting it, but the window won't go all the way up with the door open or closed. The seal seems fine and I can't pull the window up either with my hands. I'm not sure what is going on. Could the micro switch be stuck to the "on" or "open" position tricking the window into thinking that the door is always open??? If so, where is the microswitch in the door?

Hey everyone my 00 does that sometimes. It wont go all the way up. I just left it and after awhile of opening the door it would always correct itself..

Well I will pray it goes back up today. Like I said. It is dropped to where it would normally drop when you open the door. It just isn't going back up that 1/2 inch. Luckily it didn't snow or rain last night, but It has to be the microswitch freezing or breaking or malfunctioning...
