Why do people sell BOF on eBay for our cars? Better yet- Do people actually buy BOF and put them on the TT before reading that they're bad for our cars?

If I ever talked to someone who said they did this to their car... I think I'd blankly stare at them a brief moment then turn and just walk away. People buy the stupidest things sometimes!
