i went back and found it smashed on the street. d'oh. soo as i was driving home, the ol car threw a CEL. was wondering what the code could be? (i have no access to a VAG-COM )

You can just unhook your battery from the terminal and wait about ten min, make sure you have your radio code to unlock it and you will be all set.

Or just go to a local auto parts store and they will clear it for you for free.

they actually aren't supposed to clear codes for you. some do though. the battery trick is easy enough if you dont want to go anywheere.

Yea, guys at Autozone wouldn't clear my codes even though I didn't think it was anything major. Claimed if something went wrong again the code might not show back up (?). Idk, i assumed that if you cleared it and the problem re-occurred that it would throw another CEL.

I like the feature that the APR chip has where you can clear a CEL with your cruise control. It's nice that it's there. I hope I don't have to use it anytime soon.

I have a Vag-Com so that is the best, you can check it and find out what it is right there, well as long as you have your laptop in your car lol. Then fix something and clear the code, if it goes away its like winning the lottery......ok well something like that!
