A wrecked trace is hardly a ruined circuit board. You simply solder a wire around it.

I tried that. I resoldered it about 4 times and couldn't get it to POST even without the chip. I had a broken XBOX only needed a new DVD drive so I stole it. I did invest in a desoldering gun though. That thing makes it SO easy. Plus it's fun to spray molten solder at friends! (j/k)

I'm an electrical engineer....

you can get different types of solder and cleaners to help fix the board. There is a new type of solder paste that you simply smear eveywhere (green circuit board part, multiable sliver solder pads, ect) and heat it with a hot air... the solder automatically sucks itself to the correct spots and seprates its self from other traces.

You can also re-etch traces. Engineers do it all the time when prototypeing circuit boards.

It could be a problem if you not sure where the error it though. You could use a ohm meter to test the resistances to track it down.

hope I can help save an xbox. heh

It doesn't really take that much time to do and it's really worth it. Can watch YouTube, DivX, Xvid and all kinds of movieson it, can FTP them from my desktop. Has 10gig of music and about 260gb worth of games on it. Also can play every NES, SNES, N64 (except 3 I can't find), Sega, Game Boy, GBA and multiple Atari games. All XBOX games load REALLY fast cuz the HDD is using a 133ATA cable instead of the old 66.

Was playing Rainbow 6 Lockdown Multiplayer with my brother and wanted to unlock all the levels so I downloaded a save game and copied it to the XBOX before he could finish the first level. The sky is the limit and my total investment in this XBOX is only $280 and about 8 hours.

But yeah...I was bored.

Good day. Personally, I'm not a fan of video games on consoles, I like to play on the computer more. Most often I play counter-strike global offensive.

CS:GO is a multiplayer tactical game developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment.

In CS:GO, two teams of five players oppose each other on different maps, trying to complete certain tasks. One team, the terrorists, aims to detonate the bomb or kill all the members of the counter-terrorist team, while the other team, the counter-terrorists, aims to prevent the bomb from detonating or rescue the hostages.

Besides classic matches, I love to collect weapon skins. Of the entire collection, the most favorite is "Gut Knife | Black Laminate", it is quite expensive, but definitely worth the money.
