ok when i star my car when its cold ,i get a loud hi-pitched noise from under the hood. this happens like 50% of cold starts and lasts fron 10 seconds to around 45 seconds . and if i turn off my climate control it will stop the noise. so what part of my climate control is it if it is that? any help??

 

Cant help ya, but I have the same noise. If i turn off climate control before I start the car, and then let it warm up before turing it back, it doesnt seem to happen.

 

exactly lol. i guess i just let it warm up first.

 

its your secondary air pump. it turns on at start and is 99% certainly causing the problem. i have the same squeal but it doesnt bother me enough to fix it yet....
dont sweat it for now...

 

Would that not turn on if climate control was off? Because I dont have the sound when its off on cold start.

 

^if the climate ctrl is off you wont hear it. leave it off to avoid embarrassment in the parking lot, and turn it on after you get going later on.
or replace the thing, but to me its such a small prob that its not worth the money to fix it unless it really bothers you.

 

yep ive got the same sound.. have you ever heard it from outside the car? its so loud haha, but anyways, i dont worry about it...

if someone asks id just say its like my nitrous starting up or something. no biggie
