$450 for wheel bearing replacement?

RE: $450 for wheel bearing replacement?
My mechanic ended up charging me $150 (labor). He said he just fabricated some part to help with pressing the bearings. In the end, I paid about half what the other shop wanted. I was a little worried about using him because he doesn't work on Audi's regularly. So far he's done a bang-up job with the timing belt kit, wheel bearings, tie-rod end, and flushed/replaced the brake fluid and coolant. A car is a car I guess.
If anyone is looking for an honest mechanic to work on their A4 in the Des Moines area...look him up. Goodwin Auto Service.

Just pulled the passenger side rear hub out of my car this morning. Gonna head over to my buddie's house to press out the bad bearing later this afternoon.
There's no DIY posted, so maybe I'll take some pics while pressing the bearing out and new one in, and make a new thread someone can sticky up on the DIY threads.
