I use my ashtray for parking meter change. It's stuck closed. I can pry it open, but will stick again when I close it.

Anyone know how to fix this?

 

Sure there isn't a coin caught somewhere?

 

+1 I will almost guarantee you there is a coin underneath it. When i bought mine the ashtray wouldn't even open so finally one day got a flash light a some wire and scooped all those little bastards outta there. I ended up with about a dollar in change...

 

i had the same issue, i didnt even know what it was at first it wouldent open when you push it in and out, one day something accidentaly hit it and it opened.

 

cant open mine ethier unless i pry it open!

 

I should send everyone a quarter that I pulled out with a hangar.

so I have the same problem. I saw coins in there but it was stuck due to some gooey substance so I just pulled the whole assembly out. Now that I pulled out the ash tray, I cannot get the tray to close. It doesn't seem to lock in place. Help!!!

 

i have the same prb. i think there is a coin stuck bc it used 2 be fine. but i can not seem 2 find the coin..
i just bang both sides n let it open
im gonna check again 4 coins.. hopefully i can get it and not have to bang to open it

 

Mine open and closes sometimes, but the previous owner spilled something over the whole middle section. Making half my climate control buttons and a quarter of the radio buttons stuck, along with my ash tray.
