Default '01 A4 - Central Locking Pump Replacement Question

I replaced a defective(mechanical problem) power door lock pump and controller with a unit of the same part number I purchased used online. After installing it, the pump will lock and unlock the doors manually, but the remote functions do not work. I have tried following the typical directions for reprogramming the keys but still I am getting no response. Any ideas?

Try coding the new control module.

Replacing the pump alone shouldnt cause any issues with the remote function. Did it work before the pump swap? Replacing the pump alone shouldnt even require reprograming of remotes. I dont think the trunk pop was even an option on the vacuum operated systems. Are you sure your remote is compatible with the locking system you have?

Thank you for your quick replay, I'll try to explane you what it happened.

The central locking sistem stopped working, I could close the doors manually one by one from the inside and the driver one with the key from the outside.

Trying to use the remote control the emergency lights was flashing but the pump did not work.

I went to the Audi Service and they checked the car, they told me that the pump was broken. Indicative price to repaire Euro 600.

When I took back the car from the garage I noticed that the remore control stopped working. I changed the battery to the primary key and to the second, but it did not resolve the problem.

I found out a used central locking unit (which has the same code number but the last letter is different: the old one is B the new is E).

I exchanged the unit and the central locking door started working again closing the door from the inside, from the outside and from the trunk. The windows work perfectly

There is only three problems:

The remote control does not work

The button on the plate number does not open the trunk

The light on the trunk does not work

I tried to check all the fuse but all are good.

Do you think is there some relè not working?

Thank you for your help.

Try programming the remotes to the veicle. They may have just lost programing. Make sure the trunk button isnt locked. If it is it wont work. The bulb out in the trunk may be as simple as a burned out bulb. Check the bulb.

Agree. Not sure whether the control is integrated into the pump. You may have to synchronize the key with the system to make them owrk again. You can use the search function to find the method for getting your car to recognize the remote.
