Default 034 Motorsport chip for audi 12v?

I was wondering if these are any good for a 1996 audi a4 b5 2.8 12v quattro?
I emailed 034 motorsports and they said it was a plug n play. Now I did some research and one forum stated it wouldn't work for my model due to the ecu model. Any help would be great.

PS yes i know it's a 12v i should just save my
money etc etc...

Besides the fact that you will see a tiny increase in power (if any), you cannot run those chips anyway, those chips are made for the mms-200 ecus which I believe was made until 1992 and then replaced by the 300.

$300+ for single digit torque and HP gains seems absurd to me.

I think single digits would be pushing it, a toilet break before driving will do more for performance than a chip with an NA motor.

I actually used to own one of those 2.8 v6 Audi's like you have and ended up buying a 1.8t instead just because of the mods available for the 1.8 compared to the 2.8. But in regards to the ECU I wouldn't waste your money. 034 makes great engine management for the 1.8t but on the 2.8 I just dont think youll see much gain on the NA motor. But some things that can make the 2.8 a little more fun to drive are basic bolt ons that should be available for your model. The biggest change you can make that changes the driving experience are for sure suspension mods such as springs or coil overs. Besides that you could bolt up a cat back, cold air intake, injectors, etc, but really not too much modability for the 2.8. I know the 2.8 got no love till the 30valve one.
