Default 1.8T MAF used on a 2.8 V6

Is it possible to use a MAF from a 1.8T on a 2.8, essentually they should do the same job, measure the flow of air, but do the plugs match? or did Audi wire the bugger so that it only works on the model it was placed in.

im trying to make an intake for my 2.8 but need to find a way to put the MAF inline.

The filter goes on the end of the MAF. You just need to find a bent pipe like shown here
Careful of the music. It's too cool.

I really doubt that a 1.8T maf would work on a 2.8, but idk.

But I still would need adaptor plate to put round filter on square MAF...im trying to avoid that...(cause even that would cost me $45 shipped.) I can get a 1.8t MAF for way less, but im not buying it if it wont work with my engine

Right, sorry. Idk man. I know the 1.8 maf won't work for sure. Just know that unlike so many other cars, the stock airbox in the A4 flows extremely well and is very efficient. If it's just the sound you're after then whatever. There arent any adapters sold by themselves that I'm aware of. If you gotta have the sound then you'll either have to fab up a plate/adapter or buy a kit.

why would you need the 1.8 MAF for an intake for the 2.8? all you need is a MAF adapter to fit the piping on and you're good. ebay has your intake solution. some 1.8BTers use the 2.8 MAF because the 2.8 can measure for more air flow. i don't think you want to restrict the 12v anymore lol

ebay sells just the adapter? I tried to find it for him but failed. Never heard of any 1.8's using a 2.8 maf, only the vr6 housing which is different from the 2.8.

all good ideas but im not looking to spend $25-45 dollars to ship an adaptor to my house when i can make one cheap(for like $3-5) or simply change my design. as it stands tho...im looking to modify the stock box to allow me to pull cooler air from under/the front of the car...or a power duct mod to the front to let the stock box/plumbing gain unrestricted cool air from infront of the car(like the ram air scoops on Firebirds).

since no substantial power can be gained from any intake, its just more efficent to at least provide somewhat cooler air for the motor to breathe in.

this is also untill i end up boosting her...not for loads of power but more for fun
