Default 1.8t p301 need help!!

this misfire just started happening out of nowhere. It started while driving, pulled over, shut of motor, started back up fine. drove the rest of the day fine. next day it started missing again!! it was a dead miss. nonstop. pulled out my scan tool read cylinder 3 misfire. my car has 2 week old spark plugs. but I did the obvious, swapped plugs, still there, swapped coil, swapped injector, still there. has not moved from cylinder 3. checked compression on #3 and #1 cylinders both at 150lbs. so not sure if this is the computer or wiring issues. any tips would be helpful thank you

Not sure what year you have but if you've done all that the next would be the ICM located on the air box.

Agreed ^. That is, assuming the car is '99.5 or older (AEB engine code).

EDIT: Just looked at the OP's other posts, and it's a 99 so there will be an ICM.

The only way to know for 100% sure is to try a known working ICM. There is no particular fault code for a bad ICM, but the behavior you're describing is synonymous with with it.

If you get it from a scrap yard you have no way of knowing if its good only down side.
