So I was replacing the gasket inbetween the turbo and the downpipe to fix an exhaust leak and when I go start the car up it starts like a cammed v8. When i pull out my driveway it accelerate to only about 1500 and cuts power and goes back to idle than revs to 1500 than cuts out cant even make it down the road & the cabin smells like fuel & is throwing code for MAF sensor so idk wtf is going on any help is appreciated

 

When you replaced the gasket between your turbo and exhaust pipe i assume you had to remove the air box for room to work right? Maybe you didnt plug the harness back in for the maf while putting it back together or the wiring to the maf cracked and broke connection to the sensor or something... The wires on these cars get very brittle since the under the hood temps get so high with the turbo/cat being right beside the motor and the wires that closest like the ones for the airbox get the most heat exposure which maye them very easy to break. My 99 A4 wires feel cooked even the wires going to the coils are extremely brittle and crack with just moving them slightly.
