well i dont know if this has been posted or not but after owning several audi and a few B5 12Vs i had poor a/c performance and anyone thats tried to recharge the system with a can of R-134a knows there is no actually low side port. well rejoyce, after much searching i found the person and fitting thats needed to convert it to a standard low side port. its mastercool retroift adapter 82272. i ordered mine from some online site for $15 shipped and it came in today, after picking up a can of R-134a i simply screwed the new fitting on (no mods needed) and stuck a staple in the pressure sensor and viola, my A/C is the coolest its ever been. just something i though all fellow 12Vers should know.

Wal-Mart has an Interdynamics R-134a retro kit that has thier version of the same adapter..$10 or $15 I think, I forget.

 

Also advanced has the can of 134a and it comes with the pressure reader for about $15.00 stuff works great though freezing a/c.

 

Excellent. I wonder if this will fix my problem. My AC is awful. It feels like it's blowing warm engine air. It sucks.

 

... is this perhaps an issue which was resolved for 1997? Because mine definitely has a low port.

 

^^ yep only the 1996 had this wierd devil port. 1997 and on had teh regular lines.
