Default 1997 a4 2.8 speaker size

Hey guys my radio is horrible in my car and the speakers are starting to go. I was wondering what you guys think i should go with to replace them and what size the speakers are that are inside my car.
Thanks

Try craigslist for the radio if you want. Chances are you can pick up a nice alpine or pioneer for alot cheaper than a car toys or other electronics store. But for the speakers, i would just drop the money and buy new ones. Car Toys, Magnolia, Fry's, and other electronics stores are good bets to find the speakers. I live in WA though soi do not know what is around you. Good Luck.

I'm going to assume they're the same size as my 96, which is 5.25" in the front and 6.5" in the back. I just picked up some Alpine Type S speakers for my car today, installing them tomorrow, I'll let you know how they sound. I've heard good things.

fronts are components, 4" woofer with 3/4" tweeter; rears are 6.5" coaxial.

My fronts are fine so I kept the stockers, but Polk makes a set of 4"/1" components that fit, replaced my rears with 6.5" Alpine Type S, run by an Alpine CDE-9845 I had from my previous car. Thinking about replacing it with a Blaupunkt Brisbane eventually.
