1998 2.8L 5 speed transmission problem

One other thing I should probably mention is that the car has been sitting close to a year and a half

did you ever get this figured out? I picked up a 98 audi a4 Quattro for dirt cheap and I am having the same issue except when I release the clutch (w/ motor running) it jumps a little but with no drop in RPMs.
