1998 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro
I'm looking into getting an Audi. I'm new to the forum as well as to the cars so I was just looking for some advice. This car in particular has 107,xxx miles manual, and motor work. I just want something reliable as a daily driver, but for some reason I'm really considering this one. It has a larger cam (which the dealer says is responsible for the check engine light), front mounted inner cooler, BOV, and the motor was apparently rebuilt. He's going to get me the records of the specs of the car, not sure what the hp is. He's also going to let me take it to the shop of my choice to have it checked out, which what really makes me consider it. The former owner is a licensed mechanic who used to work for VW (the dealer knows him personally) and sold the car for personal reasons. I'm going to have it checked out so I can make my decision about the car, but wanted to know if there is anything specific that I should have checked out or smart purchase..anything along those lines. I drive roughly 70 miles roundtrip to work, but would like to have this car for a while as well as my daily driver. I don't plan on modding it further, just cosmetics. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.
