got another question for the audi addicts...

was planning on getting new headlights to replace my factory stock lights.
now before you all call me gay, i just wanted to say i actually like how these headlights look on classy cars..
i was planning on getting Angel eye headlights. just wanted to know which i should get and some other things..
1) any suggestions on angel eye headlights?
2) do i have to buy them before i take them to a shop for installing?
3) how much would it be to hook them up? wiring + fender trimming..?
4) are angel eyes illegal in Southern Cali?
5) last but not least, most angel eye headlights are non-xenon/HId, what the hell does that mean? i know HIDs are bright *** headlights but does that mean HID's would melt certain headlights..

1) Angel eyes are for bimmer cockbags.
2) Yes.
3) Depends on the shop.
4) Bimmers have them from the factory, so no.
5) Maybe. It also means that they'll scatter the beam like crazy and **** off not only you but everyone else around you.

HID = high intensity discharge lights. you need a special headlight and special bulb setup. It wont melt them but it will look like **** and flare all over the place.

I have first hand experience with those ebay angel eyes. They are terrible. Years ago my wife's a4 came with them when we bought it, while I had stock lights on mine. I didn't think much of it till I drove at night on the highway. They are worse than stock lights!!!!! The projector optics are ebay chinese crap and I've seen pics of where someone tried to use HID's and there were brutal glaring hot-spots. There is no way a decent cop wouldn't ticket you for it; it was that bad and obvious. You would blind all on coming traffic, airplanes, etc.

This is why people hate them. They are a downgrade! Any "mod" where you lose all function for looks is rice.
