Default 1998 Misfire Question

Hello

cylinder #4 misfired. Replaced all sparkplugs, and coil on #4. Still misfired. switched them around and #4 STILL misifred... I thought the next step was to get the Ignition Control Module... but the dude at autozone suggested I get it checked out first because some guy a couple weeks back had the same problem and it wasnt it...

I stuck a screwdriver into the coil and touched the screwdriver to metal parts of the car to see if it sparked and it didnt... Does this mean its the ICM?

so im sorta stuck... I thougth maybe fuel injectors but I looked around online and it seems like more than one cylinder misfire when its a fuel injector/fuel filter problem...

Car shutters alot taking off and reving high but drives alright on fwy and a steady speed (3000rpm) feels pretty weak though

Has anybody had 1 cylinder misfire? if so what was your problem?...

try injector cleaner or take the injectors out and let it sit in the cleaner

I put 3oz of fuel injector cleaner last night after switchin out the coils...

also I just tried pluging a screwdriver into the coil and touching the screwdriver to metal parts of the car to see if it sparked and it didnt... which leads me to the following question?

Does this mean its the ICM? or does the coil cease to fire automatically when gasoline is not coming through the injector? ... in other words does this rule out a fuel injector problem

I havent figured it out yet... mine is a 98... I think if you have multiple misfires the fuel injectors or fuel/filter are more likely to cause it which is why im inclined to think my problem is the ICM I only misfire on #4... ill let you know as soon as I get it fixed

Its most likely the Ignition Control Module
