no thankfully. A while back on the Forum some guy from like Russia or something like that came on and had ordered I think 3 or 4 superchargers from Motodyne, but they never came, so he had some people go look into it here state-side and that was the result, a bunch of smoke and mirrors, I'm not sure what ever happened in the end though.

WOW, hard to believe a company could get away with that. The site looks very legit. Not much for 12v but then again, not much for 30vs either so I guess if you want to build power, get a 1.8 or a S4 You can go with exhaust, magnaflow 1400s sound good, as does Remus but the latter is expensive and made for your car, magnaflow is universal. Good luck!

yeah motodyne is the biggest scam ever. i dont know how they are still in business. there are threads all over this forum, audizine, audiworld, vortex, etc... explaining what has happened and they've been reported numerous times

ok then another question, isnt the S4 an A4 chassi with a 2.7T in it? and whats the difference between the 2.7t and 2.8 engines in size?

I was just wondering about the stuff, because i would like to at least have more than 174 bhp, with a V6 you should be able to push more than that, even if i get 20 hp more, id be happy at 194 for a little whil

well beyond .1 liter in size the 2.7t has a different ECU, biturbo's, Dv's intercoolers, cams, head, bottom end I think, pistons, etc.

Basically the 2.7t and the 2.8 are to entirely different engines. They are just close size wise. (I think I could be completely wrong on this and if I am, please someone like Chaos (BTW where have you been) or onepoint8tee, please correct me since you two probably know better than I on this matter)

Also it is a hassle to swap the 2.7t into a 2.8 chassis, in case that is what you were thinking of doing. It can be done, I know a guy of the top of my head who did it, but it is not the easiest or the cheapest thing to do.

3-4 superchargers? that story sounds made up to me, honestly who is going to drop 15000-20000 on superchargers for an audi. Unless he's selling them in Russia, but I doubt anyone would buy them because they're so damn expensive.

well first off, Russia has money, it's all in the Maffia and they drive Audi's, the first recorded R8 crash was from Russia.

however I was incorrect, he was from Bulgaria and it was a 12K supercharger for an A8 with a 4.2l

The 2.7 has a slightly smaller bore to increase the thickness of cylinder walls, forged crank, a 4 bolt main plus the turbos and all the associated hardware. One thing the 2.8 is better at though is that it has better flowing heads than the normal 2.7 , The 2.8 has the same head design as the RS4's 2.7(larger ports). Sadly, I dont think there is much more you can do besides spray. I have the 30V 2.8 and there still isnt much but there is at least some. Im getting light weight pullys, intake spacers and an electric fan kit. I already have exhaust and a KN drop in. The only other things are a chip and the supercharger I think. You could email Prince at VAST and he might be able to help you but thats just a guess, I dont really know. Good luck!

^^^ kinda beat me to it. Although the 2.7 has a 6 bolt main. They didn't take a chance.
The 2.7 motor started life as a 2.8. Then, engineers thickened the cylinder walls (hence the loss of displacement) to handle the immense amount of boost pressure. Since the heads from the 2.8 provide a higher IIRC the 2.7 guys use these. To build up a 2.8 motor, ideally you'd use 2.8 heads and cams (3.0's if you're looking to overbore) but swap in the stronger 2.7 block. They're both iron blocks so they're relatively similar. Pistons will be upgraded as well since anything over 9 psi(if boosted) is pushing them to fry. That is IF you want to upgrade a N/A 2.8(this includes the 12v since I'm not talking bout F/I necessarily) You obviously need know-how and wouldn't be posting for sites on bolt-ons and don't ask for a DIY. Yes the 2.7 started life similar to a 2.8 but the finished product is in no way the same. Something nOObs don't understand, they were totally designed for different reasons, which is why you can't just throw in a turbo because their displacements appear to be relatively close.

Ok that is completely understandable, no one in there right mind should use anything over 9:1 for boosted operation. I was just wondering because well... we use to have a 84 S-10 Blazer that we stuck a 500hp 350 in and we don't tend to let things sit stock in the long run...

(we = Father, Brother, Me)

keeping in mind that at the time we built it you had to get custom motor mounts, and well... now everybody does it.

I was just checking because although everyone says its a money sink, it might just be interesting to do.

Although I just bought the car and my girl would probably like me to leave it alone for now.

you know where I'm at... The Dream Stage... and I was just asking about the bolt ons because I'm sure there are people out there that have already done it and was looking for some user input as far as bolt ons.

I'm use to american motors more than I am european motors, I've had three 89 Mustangs, the 84 blazer and a 2001 and 2004 mustang, so this is new turf for me. Not use to having to actually look hard for performance bolt ons, although it sounds to me like everybody says there aren't any.

Thanks
