Default 2.8 shifting problem

I don't know if this is a problem or not. I have a 97 automatic 2.8. Whenaccelerating into 3rd gear, the car kind of jumps and the rpm's go up a little. It's pretty consistant. Is this something to worry about?

Well if i accelerate very hard, it almost goes away. It's during normal accelaration that it jerks.

Default 2.8 shifting problem

Hi,

I am a new member of the forum.

I once discussed with the staff of the local Audi dealer here in Hong Kong about the 2.8 A4. I was told that one of the 2.8 A4 ownershad brought in his car for inspection of the gearbox as the same problem as Jestnomen's occured, and they could not detect any problem on the gearbox, not even by the official engineer who particularly came over from Germany. So I think it is normal and no need to worry.

Well I'm glad it's probably nothing to worry about. I appreciate the help SlimChriz and Avantian.
