wondering if a w stage boost controller can mess up the or confuse the ECU? if i run one level at lik 12 PSI and then have the second stage a the chip PSI 18. will switching it back and forth confuse the ecu?

No, it wont do any harm. Most people use them with drag racing. They use a lower psi for first gear and sometimes second and then higher boost in higher gears. You can jump back and forth and wont have a problem.
