Default 2000 1.8T electric fan wiring

i had to replace my electric fan and i have to connect the wires. one is the ground which bolts into the ground next to the dead pedal (that one's in) and the poswer one connect somewhere underneath the steering column. i connected it to there i THOUGHT it went but it turned on and would not turn off! so i disconnected it and i have to find where it goes so that i can have A/C in these hot and humid florida summers!

you cant tell where the origional one came out of? there should be a little clip near the fan that you can just unclip when you need to remove the fan. you dont have to pull the wires out all the way from the cabin.

you are talking about the secondary fan on the passenger side, right? not an electric main fan to replace the one driven by the engine....

this wiring diagram i have says the ground wire is brown, and the power wire is red/black and it connects like this.....

.................................................. .................................................. ..........
[2nd speed fan relay]---(red/blk)-----[fan series resistor]--(red/white)--[fan relay]
................................................./.................................................. ..........
..[ground]----(brown)----[fan]----^................................................. ............
.................................................. .................................................. ..........

ignore the ....... , the colors are the color of the wire
the ---^ is where the wire connects with the one above it. should be the same color, red/black
so in other words you should connect the power wire between the second fan relay and the fan series resistor, the exact location of those is up to you to find out

hope that helps

i wish i knew how to put pictures on here cause i know that would REALLY help out a lot. maybe that'll be my project this week. but it'll be hard cause my sister's getting married so i don't have anytime. i knew what the colors are but i just can't see where the red and black wire goes because everytime i follow it i loose it in a HUGE cluster of wires so i can't ever find it

got one, but i just don't know where it's supposed to go. i went down there on my break (i'm at work now) and i tried everything, and i got nothing at all. i found A red with black stripe wire but it went to a smaller fuse in the back, but when i stuck the NEW live wire into the fuse to test it, i got nothing, and i know that there's power going through it cause when i touched a bolt under there, it started sparking. i need pics or something as to where the power wire goes
