Default 2001.5 A4 Rear Brakes Sticking

SO i have a new to me A4 and when i bough the car it needed back brakes along with some other things. I replaced the back brakes and pads and i have about 25 miles on the car since then. When i went out for a ride today both back brakes were smoking and it felt like the car was dragging. what would cause both back brakes to not release? I though maybe a frozen caliper but both ?

thanks

Since you put new pads on the car, it's possible that the previous owner adjusted the hand brake to compensate for the low brake pads. Thus, you'll need to loosen the handbrake adjustment. If it's loose already, then it is very possible to have BOTH calipers frozen since it happened to me over a 2 week span. Rebuilt OEM calipers were pretty cheap at Autozone / Advance Auto Parts. When I bought mine (with core exchange), they happen to be the EXACT model numbers. So they were effectively brand new for like $80 each or something like that.
