So I am looking at getting an AWD right now and have found an A4 1.8T. It has 117k miles on it and a private owner wants $8500, is this reasonable? I really like the car and it has Borla turbo back exhaust and a set of winter and summer tires. However I don't know how well audis hold up at higher mileage. I am looking to get something better than my 99 lifted Jeep at 12mpg. Please let me know what you think.
Thanks

it is crucial to find out if the timing belt has been changed. Car with milage over 50K maitnance records are a must and the reason is because if it was not care for properly you are going to be entering a world of pain, financialy of course. all in all it seems like a fair price. I bought an 2001 1.8t quattro manual, sport package, and factory orginal B5 RS4 wheels for 11,000 with 88k on the clock.

Yes the timing belt, both rear wheel bearings, MAF sensor, and water pump have all been replaced.

I bought my 2001 1.8tq 5spd sport for 7k with 88k. I think you should keep looking if you found something similar you would have less miles and less money. with that extra 1500 you could buy and exhaust and a chip.

when were they replaced and where? does he have the service records or at least a sales recepit for the parts. That part is crucial and some have lasted that long stock and I have heard of people selling them under the influence that the belt was changed simply becasue it lasted so long. If the belt goes you are looking at a min of 2500 to fix it. When it comes to making a purchase like this TRUST NO ONE and ask for PROOF. I have had friends learn the hard way.

The timing belt was replaced around 100K and there are records.
