Default 2001 a4 2.8 clunk in rear end

Hello, I have a 2001 a4 with 70k on it. It is a 5 spd and the 2.8 v6 I have been hearing a slight clunking noise from the rear of the vehicle when accelerating from a stop and sometimes from shifting through the gears it doesn't make any noise once moving its just the initial engagement of the clutch and shifting that makes a noise it seems but I don't know what it could be please let me know if you have any ideas or have experienced the same problems

I have the same thing going on with mine but to me it sounds like its coming from the front. Also mine only happens shifting into 2nd and 3rd

I have the same issues on my '01 1.8t. I'm assuming my rear diff bushings are wearing out. Cars generally need a lot of refreshing around the 10 year mark.

If it when shifting and in the rear check out your rear dif mount. My was ripped almost in half. I picked up a new one from ringer-racing.com and if was great.
