2001 audi a4 non Quattro transmission question
I recently purchase a 2001 audi a4 4 cylinder automatic. It had a blown transmission. I bought a used transmission and put it on and it's stuck in one gear only and on the dash it's highlighted on the D only while it's on park . Please help me
On the old transmission it was stuck in 3rd gear and it had a loud noise. On this one it just stuck in one gear doesn't shift from there .
OK, different symptoms.
Just re-read your first post. So when you put the selector lever in P, the dash shows the tranny is in D? If you move the lever to N, does the dash show something like 2?
What I'm wondering is, did you get the cable from the shift lever way out of adjustment when you put in the new tranny? Does it ever go into Park? Maybe the lever cable is so out of adjustment that its not moving the shift linkage the way you think it is.

When it's on any gear the dash lights up on the D only the transmission goes into reverse and drive but it only gets one gear doesn't shift or anything
