225/65/16???
So Last week when i was changing out my ignition switch i figured it was a good time to go into winter mode.
Well today on the way home from school i got a flat tire, i am using this problem to now get new tires, a friend of mine has a set of used 225/65/16 with 5000 miles on them and is giving me a deal i cant say no to, the problem is they are like two sizes too big as the stockers are 205/55/16.
So my question is... Is anybody running this set up or close too??? I imagine that these tires will create rubbing which i obviously dont want, so any feedback is appreciated.

The wheels you currently have should be fine, however according to the aspect ratio, the tires you are looking at 225/65/16's will be about 3" inches in diameter larger than than the 205/55/16's and roughly 7/8" of an inch wider (almost half an inch on each side wider than whats on your car now). That is a considerable increase in size compared to your current sidewall height. Right now, not considering wear, your sidewall should currently be about 4 3/8" tall. The 225/65/16s will have a 5 3/4" sidewall height. If you want to know what issues you may encounter take a tape measure place it on top of your tire and measure up 1 3/8"+ (maybe even 1 1/2" just to be safe considering possible wear to the tires you currently are running) to see how close the top of the new tire will be to fender or other possible obstructions. I'm not sure it would be such a good idea regardless of the price. Good luck

I run 225/50/16. The ones you are talking about would be like putting monster truck tires on your car.
Another idea is just take the tire and stand it up next to your wheel and that will give you a pretty close idea as to what they will look like. (unless he has stored them under an elephant)
