2nd timing belt breaks???
I had my timing belt break on my 2001 Audi A4 at 59,000 miles and had it replaced under warranty. My belt just broke, AGAIN, at 97,000 miles...driving down a busy interstate at 70 mph! My dealership says the total will be about $8800 and Audi will only pay for half. They broke it down to see what was causing it and found nothing other than the rubber on the belt broke. Why should I have to pay anything? Help!
The tensioner may have been bad. I had the tensioner replaced
at 25K mi. , due to a cam DTC. I had the timing belt job done at
84K mi. , and now have 146K mi. Contact AoA. You'll need all the oil
change receipts.
